With Smart Launcher 6.1 Android Widgets are finally great.
The update everyone was waiting for it’s finally here.
For years our community of users asked us when Smart Widgets will be available and Android users have always been struggling with the experience of Android widgets.
Our tagline is ‘Enjoy simplicity. Customize it beautifully’, that’s why also with this release we wanted to deliver a seamless but rich widget experience for all of you to enjoy.
Seamless because widgets fit right into our Acrylic theme onto your home screen, with your icons, adapting to your colours and style.
We know colours are important on your home screen, so widgets will adapt to your wallpaper's dominant colours and fully support Material You on Android 12 + devices.
Rich because we don’t want your home screen to change to host a widget, but instead widgets should adapt in size and shape to the space available on your screen.
All our Smart Widgets are fully responsive and support more than 64 different sizes, adapting their content to the available space.
In Smart Launcher 6.1 you’ll find our first set of Smart Widgets including New Clock & Weather, Music Player, Battery, Note, Calendar Events and Compass but more widgets are coming soon.
Battery Widget
Nothing is more simple and more useful than a fun-looking battery widget. Pick the shape you prefer, colours quickly indicate the level of your battery if the percentage number is not descriptive enough for you ;)
Clock Widget
It’s like the old Clock & Weather widget you liked but hyper-responsive, feature-packed with Weather, Next Calendar event and Alarm.
Music Widget
This one is a classic, we couldn't not build this one, but we designed and built it so that it would feel amazing when looked at it. Colourful, artistic and always relevant to the song it's playing.
Note Widget
Do you need a place to quickly save that thought or the shopping list? This one is for you. Easily accessible on your home screen, add as many as you want.
Calendar Events
No more terrible-looking calendar widgets on your home screen. This one is always pleasant to your eyes, even if your calendar looks crazy today.
Compass Widget
For all of you mountain hikers or apartment explorers, we have built the Compass Widget. With this widget on your home screen, you’ll never get lost anymore instead, it will be easier to find your way in this world.
But most of all, it was very fun to build this one!
What else do you ask?
Obviously, Smart Launcher 6.1 comes with more than this, you’ll notice a brand new Widget Picker and lots of other UI/UX improvements and bug fixes that will make your home screen better.

When will it be available?
The release will start on October 11th using a gradual release process that may require up to 5 days.
What’s next for Smart Launcher?
Of course, new widgets are coming soon, make sure you let us know which are your favourite and the ones you’d like to see released next!
